About Us

The Utah Career Development Association (UCDA) is a division of the National Career Development Association (NCDA).  The board and members represent a wide variety of career professionals across the state of Utah.  We invite you to join us!  Annual membership is included as part of your conference fee each year.

What are the differences between NCDA and NACE?

  • NCDA is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA) that focuses on career development. Its membership consists of career counselors, advisors, coaches, and educators who work in a broad variety of professional settings including K-12 education, higher education, government, workforce development, business, and industry. The focus is career development across the lifespan.

  • In contrast, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is a professional organizations designed to connect career counselors in higher education with employers and corporate recruiters. Compared to NCDA, it focuses more on career competencies and readiness skills that college and university students need to develop to maximize career success.
